Our audience (men 35+) loves a good DIY fix — but most of them had no idea eBay stocked car parts for nearly every make and model. The real challenge? Closing this knowledge gap and shifting eBay from “auction site” to “your car-fixing toolbox delivered to your door.”
Insight
When something on your car stops running, it disrupts everything. Many drivers love fixing things themselves, but don’t know where to get the right parts fast. They’re willing to DIY; they just need a place that always has the solution.
Concept
A simple repair becomes a moment of triumph. In the ad, dad /husband installs new parts from eBay and instantly turns the garage into a dance floor, with mom/friend nodding along from the car. Because on eBay, there’s always the part you need, and that feels damn good.
Strategy
Position eBay as the first stop when your car needs something. Highlight the huge range of parts for almost any model and connect it to that satisfying “I fixed it myself” moment, perfectly aligned with the campaign platform “Läuft’s nich, gibt’s nicht.”
